Eric Gorham

Eric Gorham is a founding faculty member and coordinator of the social sciences, and teaches a variety of courses including the Cornerstone, Question, and Rhetoric courses, Democracy and Justice, Political Economy, and concentration courses in politics. Before arriving at Quest in 2006, he spent 16 years at Loyola University New Orleans where he was Professor of Political Science. Originally from New York, Eric received his A.B. at the University of Chicago, and his M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has also studied and conducted research at Warwick University in the United Kingdom and the European University Institute in Fiesole, Italy and taught at Concordia University in Montreal. The author of two books and numerous journal articles, Eric's field of research is contemporary political theory and political education.

Besides the US and Canada, Eric has lived in Spain, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Chile. He enjoys hiking, tennis, Iberian and South American literature, world music, foreign languages, and good conversation. He is married to Luce Mélançon, an artist and French teacher, and they are proud owners of a well-behaved and loving bichon frise, Viva.
