Court Ashbaugh joins Quest University Canada after teaching science and mathematics courses at Okanagan College. He earned a B.Sc. (Hons.) in chemistry from UBC in 2003 and went on to study at the University of Connecticut. There he studied the reactions and spectroscopy of laser-cooled atoms and molecules under Dr. Bill Stwalley earning an M.Sc. degree focused on chemical physics in 2006.

His goal as an educator is to enable students to connect with science concepts in a direct way by, as much as possible, re-creating the process of scientific discovery. In his chemistry lab courses, students will be encouraged to direct their own investigations during the process of testing and modifying their understandings of physical phenomena.

Court has a varied background that includes having planted over one million trees in B.C. and working as a steel-fabricator/machinist. He enjoys all sorts of outdoor recreation, especially climbing and mountaineering. Court also plays the violin, the guitar and the mandolin in steeply descending order of competence.
