Visiting Tutor for "Comparative Political Institutions"

Doug Munroe graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in Political Science in 2003, and worked in the Government Operations Centre at the Department of Public Safety until 2006. He then left the public service to pursue a master's degree in International Security Studies at St Andrews University, and a PhD in Strategic Studies at the University of Calgary. His main research interest is security policy, and he will be defending his doctoral thesis on counterterrorism practices at the beginning of February. Other research interests include intelligence studies, the politics of cyberspace, political violence, and comparative democratic institutions.

Doug, who currently calls Halifax home, is also an avid caver and rock climber, a member of British Columbia Cave Rescue, a long-distance runner, and the father of a two-month-old baby girl! He is very excited to be in Squamish and looks forward to an exciting month at Quest.
