Celeta's first encounter with the university was a campus tour in a hard hat and construction vest. Inspired by the rare opportunity to start a university from scratch, Celeta joined Quest’s inaugural class of 2007. Her experience at the university inspired her to join the admissions team; she still cannot believe that it's her job to travel the country and share her love for Quest! Passionate about equality and human rights, her question, "Why do we care?" though simple in wording, aimed to encompass the full spectrum of human empathy. She had the opportunity to explore everything from what potential neurons fire when we feel empathetic, to how the layout of a brochure can dictate how much money we donate to a cause. She had the opportunity, through experiential learning, to build a school in Ecuador, work with the human rights issues at the U.S./ Mexican border, and care for children with severe cognitive and physical disabilities at an Orphanage in Cambodia. Celeta loves reading, drawing, surfing, dinosaurs, and getting her craft on. She owns a flemish giant (the most epic breed of rabbit known to man) named Tshawyscha, who she bought while at a state fair in Alaska, and had to drive back to Canada in a make-shift run in the back of her Subaru. When not implusively making awesome decisions, Celeta can be found eating her weight in sushi and watching reruns of 30 Rock.
