A Global Campus Quest is home to students from over 22 countries spanning 6 continents. We are a global campus that not only is dedicated to building a diverse student body, but also attracts local students interested in other cultures and places. Quest offers support services to students coming from other countries, including assistance with transportation, study permits, on and off campus employment options, medical insurance, health services, and holiday and vacation housing provisions. Employment in Canada for International Students On Campus: Full-time students with a valid study permit are eligible to work on campus at Quest. This includes on-campus employers such as food services, the library, student organizations, individual faculty members, commercial outlets and more. All student employment is part-time and should not be relied on for living expenses. Off-Campus: Full-time international students in good academic standing may apply for an off-campus work permit if they have been at Quest for at least six of the 12 months preceding the date of the work permit application. This permit allows students to work up to twenty hours per week while studying, and up to forty hours per week during scheduled school breaks (e.g. winter break, reading week, summery holidays). More information and application instructions are available here: NOTE: To work in Canada, international students must apply for a social insurance number at Service Canada. While working on campus is a great way to meet friends and gain work experience, students should consider how employment can affect academic performance and co-curricular availability. |
