Residential Living Coordinator

John Scheunhage joined Quest University Canada's Student Affairs team in July 2010. He finds Quest a perfect workplace to combine over 8 years of experience in student affairs in residence life, admissions, and student development with careers in information technology and counseling. He is excited about contributing to the innovative approaches to student success happening at Quest.

BC has been his home base since childhood, and he loves the outdoor lifestyle of Squamish. John recently returned to BC after living in the San Francisco Bay Area where he completed his Masters in Counseling Psychology focussing on integrative approaches to human well-being. In his volunteer life John has worked with outdoor and First Nation's education programs, meditation groups, Big Buddies programs and mountain biking events.

John spends his free time taking in BC's amazing natural splendor throughout the Sea-to-Sky corridor. After work join him in setting out for a mountain bike ride, scouting a new location for a back country adventure, or looking forward to stand up paddle board lessons in Howe Sound.

If John was fortunate enough to relive his undergrad experience at Quest, his question would be: "What are the factors in our individual human development? How do our identity and meaning making systems continue to grow and change throughout adulthood, and how can we support that growth as contributing world citizens?"
